Musicians & Producers
Testing perception-based plugins and prototyping novel audio tools
I'm building audio plugins that process sound based on how we actually hear it—using critical bands, masking models, and perceptual processing. Looking for producers who want to test early-stage tools and provide feedback on what works (and what doesn't).
What I'm Working On
- EchoPsychFX: Psychoacoustic delay plugin with critical band filtering and frequency masking—currently seeking beta testers
- Max for Live prototypes: Testing masking-aware processing concepts before implementing in C++
- Perceptual analysis tools: Building plugins that visualize frequency masking and critical band behavior in mixes
- Custom audio processing: Open to developing specialized tools for specific production needs
🎛️ EchoPsychFX Beta Testing
I'm actively looking for producers and mix engineers to test EchoPsychFX. Beta testers get early access, can directly influence feature development, and help refine the perception algorithms based on real production use.
What I Bring
- Plugin development skills: C++ and JUCE for VST3/AU development, plus Max for Live prototyping
- Psychoacoustic knowledge: Understanding of critical bands, masking curves, and perceptual processing
- Technical implementation: Can turn audio processing ideas into working plugins
- Iterative approach: Building tools through testing, feedback, and refinement
Collaboration Areas
🧪 Beta Testing
Test early-stage plugins, provide feedback on workflow and sound, and help shape tool development
🎚️ Custom Tool Development
Explore building specialized processors or effects for specific production workflows
📊 Analysis & Feedback
Help identify what makes perception-based processing useful (or not) in real production contexts
🎵 Production Testing
Use prototype tools on actual projects and provide feedback on practical usability
What I'm Looking For
- Honest feedback: People who can articulate what they hear and what they need from audio tools
- Production context: Producers working on real projects who can test tools in actual workflows
- Experimental mindset: Willingness to try unconventional approaches to audio processing
- Communication: Ability to describe sonic results and workflow friction points
Potential Projects
Some ideas I'm exploring (but open to your suggestions):
- Masking-aware EQ that adjusts based on critical bands and frequency masking
- Perceptual dynamics processing based on loudness models rather than just amplitude
- Spatial processors for stereo width using psychoacoustic principles
- Analysis tools that visualize masking and critical band behavior in real-time
- Custom effects that leverage auditory perception rather than just math
